The summer movie season will be upon us before we know it. Surely one of this year's biggest hits (if not the biggest) will be Transformers 2: Revenge of The Fallen. This is what IDW must have been betting on when they released this prequel. There is very little substance to this issue, and I know many disagree with me on this. But the writing is horrid. A campy writing style and corny dialogue permeate the issue. I really don't see where a solid story can be made of this, though this is never determinable in the first issue. But, in my opinion this is not a good start. I have a question for the editor. When you read this, did the thought ever cross you mind to have Chris Mowry tighten up the dialogue? The comic would have improved ten-fold if the corny one liners and cheesy jokes were eliminated. The art is good, but inconsistent. Not a selling point, but passable. If you haven't liked IDW's movie stuff so far , this will not improve your opinion. If you are a fan, then patience may be a virtue. In the end this issue as a stand alone is a solid Drop It, but it is only the beginning of the story, so only time will tell if it was all worth it.
